Every rule below exists so a first meeting feels low-pressure, public, and easy to leave.
Verified members only
Every member completes selfie and government ID verification before they can be matched. No anonymous profiles, bots, or catfish accounts.
Public, daytime cafés
Dates happen only at busy, well-lit public cafés selected as a fair midpoint. Female members have final approval of the venue.
The 30-minute boundary
Dates default to 30 minutes. Leaving at the 30-minute mark is the expected norm, so nobody has to invent an excuse. If it is going well, you can stay longer.
No pre-date messaging pressure
There is no open chat before meeting. Text chat is limited to a greeting and arrival coordination, and contact details unlock only after a mutual thumbs-up.
Anti-ghosting and cancellations
Cancel 2 or more hours ahead and your $5 hold is released in full. No-shows forfeit the hold to the member who showed up.
Zero tolerance for harassment
Harassment, threats, hate speech, or sexual pressure results in permanent removal. Report concerns to hello@coffeedatesonly.ca and, in an emergency, contact local authorities first.
CoffeeDatesOnly is an independent matching platform. Venue names and public locations are listed solely for meetup identification and do not imply official partnership, endorsement, or sponsorship by featured establishments.
